Well lets say that this was a rough hand i get dealt JJ and raise half my stack bb calls flop comes out 9j9 sweet i flop the boat i push he calls we flip our cards he show 99 for quads ever crazy

That isn't a bad beat.

You flopped the second nuts and he flopped the nuts.

Well it is a bit of a bad beat, go from a 4:1 favourite to a 50:1 dog lol.

It's not a bad beat if he calls your raise with a perfectly playable hand

There is not enough info here to know if half your stack was a cheap call for him if he's big stack or if 99 is his big hopeful hand if he's short stack

This is why you should post hand histories instead of just remembering your perspective on it, but when two playable hands clash and the underdog wins, it is not a bad beat it is just how poker is.
